Hieromartyr Proterius Patriarch of Alexandria

Also known as Proterios of Alexandria

Patriarch of Alexandria who upheld the Orthodox faith of the Council of Chalcedon against the Monophysites. He was set upon by a heretical mob and slain on Great and Holy Saturday in 457.
