Saint Sigeberht of East Anglia

King of the East Angles, converted and baptized in exile in Gaul, who founded schools and monasteries and welcomed Sts. Felix and Fursey; he abdicated to become a monk and, dragged out to battle, was slain carrying only a staff — venerated as a martyr-king.
