Blane of Bute

Blane was a monk of Bute, nephew of St Cathan, trained in Ireland under Sts Comgall and Kenneth before returning to evangelize among the Picts. He founded a monastic community at Dunblane and is remembered as a missionary bishop of early Christian Scotland.
