Kessog, son of the king of Cashel in Ireland, left his homeland to serve as a missionary bishop in the Lennox region of Scotland, using an island in Loch Lomond as his base. He was among the earliest Christian missionaries in Scotland and is traditionally held to have been martyred at Bandry.
