Morwenna of Cornwall

Morwenna was a holy virgin of the late fifth and early sixth centuries, reckoned among the children of Brychan Brycheiniog of Wales, who was educated in Ireland before crossing to Cornwall. She is the patroness of Morwenstow in north Cornwall, where tradition holds she built a church with her own hands, carrying the stones up from the shore.
