Fiacre of Breuil
Fiacre (c. 600–670) was an Irish-born hermit who crossed to Gaul and received from Bishop Faro of Meaux a tract of land at Breuil, where he cleared the ground, planted a garden, and built an oratory, a cell, and a hospice for travellers. Renowned for his hospitality and many healings, he is remembered as the patron of gardeners and those who work the soil.
