Born to an Aromanian family from Macedonia and brought to Romania as a child after the loss of her mother and a broken spine, she was tonsured at the Samurcășești–Ciorogârla Monastery in 1942. She was beaten for her faith in the first years of the communist regime and reposed in 1949, having received Holy Communion.
